The topic of self-love is near and dear to my heart and has been perhaps one of my own greatest personal life journeys. Counselors and various healer types have sometimes told me, especially in my younger years, that I have a problem with loving—or even liking—myself. But where do you start when you don’t have a baseline for what this is supposed to look and feel like?
My journey has been a long one of various healing modalities and coaches and sheer persistence because, at a gut level, I have always known life could be different. I’ve experienced a lot of hardship, emotionally and sometimes physically. If you are here on this page, you probably can see and feel your own quirks and dysfunctional behaviors, and maybe you, too, have been or are at a low place in your life. Maybe you, too, know and see that other options are out there, but you just aren’t sure where to start. In my experience it takes will and the right team to help us make lasting changes. This self-love coaching offering is the distillation of my own yearslong self-love healing journey, and I’d love to share and support you on your journey if you feel ready and that we might be a good fit!
During self-love coaching, I’ll share techniques, tricks, and intuitive guidance to assist you on your journey. Often all we need is a loving, compassionate, and reasonable ear to hear us out, validate our inner experiences, and give gentle guidance for making positive changes. I offer all that and the additional benefit of having had 9 years of on and off professional psychotherapy, inner child coaching and healing work, and having completed the full curriculum of William Whitecloud’s Natural Success Program of human intuition and superconsciousness development. I’ve also practiced The Work of Byron Katie since 2015 by myself and in groups with accredited and highly trained facilitators and have had many other coaches and mentors along my own wellness journey. I can honestly say I have embodied, most, if not all of my own studies in the self-love arena.
Here’s another tip for those on this self-love healing journey: we are human, and that means we are social, no matter how introverted and pessimistic you might feel about the human race. Our brains and nervous systems are wired for and even require social interactions to be healthy, and having the right support is essential to moving forward in a positive direction in our lives and toward making lasting changes.
One thing that I have observed from being in practice with my hands for over seventeen years is that, often, what people most need for their healing process is more self-compassion and self-love. I’d actually go so far as to say I’ve been a closeted self-love coach all this time without knowing it, as it’s always obvious what a person’s relationship to themselves is like based on how they connect with and touch their own body. In my abdominal healing practice especially, there is a self-massage homework version of the work I do, which I give to almost all my clients. When I ask clients to “show me” how they would massage their own bellies, I can almost always see their relationship to themselves. I get the honor and privilege of seeing how this relationship changes over time, often with an improvement in health and at least more mental calm and acceptance with where they are at.
With self-love coaching I hope to directly and more quickly influence others to see how much their bodies, spirits, and the universe really are on their side. I also hope to bring more front and center this most important and often unspoken topic of “Self-Love” because almost everything else branches off this primary relationship. A healthy self-relationship is vital for healthy and happy personal relationships, positive work environments, or just being a healthier, happier citizen of the world.*
